A Connector is an electromechanical device which is used to create an electrical connection between parts of an electrical circuit or between different electrical circuits. Most electrical connectors have a gender i.e., Male (plug) and Female (socket). Different types of connectors that used to connect circuits, called adapters instead as they join dissimilar connectors. There is a wide range of connectors manufactured for audio, data, power and visual applications. Depends on the function, connectors can be categorized as inline or cable, chassis or panel, PCB mount and Splice or Butt connectors.
